In our C/O Berlin Bookshop, we present catalogues from current and past exhibitions, illustrated volumes and books on photo theory arranged by topic, as well as a curated selection of recent publications. This array is complemented by DVD documentaries on individual photographers and on the history of photography. Moreover, we offer a range of international magazines and newspapers on photography and art. There is a subject-specific selection of theory books and illustrated volumes accompanying our current exhibitions. Our bookshop also has an exclusive range of C/O Berlin exhibition posters and postcards, including items from previous exhibitions where available.

Own publications

Since its founding, C/O Berlin has published its own books, for instances on exhibitions on Robert Mapplethorpe and Larry Clark, as well as editing numerous volumes each year. The C/O Berlin Bookshop sells the series of books by the prizewinning young artists and art critics of our next-generation Talents program, published by Deutscher Kunstverlag (until 2013) and by Kehrer Verlag (from 2014). We also offer books released by Spector Books by winners of the C/O Berlin Talent Award. C/O Berlin regularly collaborates with publishers such as Steidl Publishers, Hatje Cantz Verlag, Prestel Verlag and Verlag der Buchhandlung Walther König, working with them to release our own books on our many exhibitions.

Editions

C/O Berlin collects works by internationally acclaimed photographers and emerging talents in our Editions. The artists offer a limited-edition work for sale exclusively through C/O Berlin. Each year, up to ten new series of works are added to our selection of available editions. The prints are signed and numbered. And there is something available for all photo lovers, as the prices span a range of segments. By purchasing an artwork, you not only expand your personal collection, but also support the cultural activities of C/O Berlin. Profits from the sale of our editions flow directly into funding our future endeavors and education programs.

Design objects

And if you’re feeling overwhelmed in the face of so much choice and can’t decide which book would make the perfect gift, you might find what you’re looking for amidst our carefully curated selection of changing design objects and C/O Berlin merchandise. These items serve as a little memento of C/O Berlin in your everyday life, and include tennis socks, caps, notebooks made from old C/O Berlin posters, erasers, pencils, magnets with quotations on photography, as well as our iconic C/O Berlin jute and cloth bags made using advertising materials and sewn by a socially conscious Berlin organization. After all, our top priority is always sourcing items produced regionally, sustainably and in a socially conscious manner. Many items are produced very close to the museum, for instance at DIM Blindenwerkstatt Berlin (Union Sozialer Einrichtungen) and in Christophorus Werkstätten in Brandenburg.
