Program . Autumn 2015

C/O Berlin will be offering numerous tours, lectures, and workshops for children, teens, and adults from August 22 to November 1, 2015. The wide-ranging program of events complements our upcoming exhibitions: Eyes Wide Open! 100 years of Leica photography; Compatriots 1977–1987 . Two Germanys by Rudi Meisel; and Talents 34 . Lives of the Unholy by Krzysztof Pijarski and Annika K. Kuhlmann.

The invention of the 35 mm Leica 100 years ago was more than the birth of a new camera. The small, reliable, always-ready camera, equipped with a high-performance lens, marked a paradigm change in photography: It meant that photographers could leave the stiff studio setting behind and venture out into the lively, unpredictable real world. Street photography was born! To this day, the love of experimentation and visual exploration with the 35 mm camera continues unabated among amateur photographers, artists, and photojournalists alike. In the coming weeks, experts, photographers, artists, and curators will be exploring and discussing the far-reaching dynamization and democratization of the photographic medium—from analog to the emergence of digital technology—in numerous workshops, tours, lectures and workshops.
