C/O Berlin presents the project Close Up! in cooperation with the 61st Berlin International Film Festival. From February 11 to 20, 2011, 18 young photographers received the opportunity to experience working as professional photojournalists at the Berlinale. The photographers were given the assignment of presenting their personal view of the Berlinale in all its diversity—the red carpet, glamorous film stars, hectic staff, or behind-the-scenes secrets. Each participant decided on a theme, embarked on a search for motifs, selected images, and put together a series of works for exhibition.

The works submitted by the participants were judged by a specialist jury on Sunday, 20 February, 2011. Dieter Kosslick, patron of the 'Close Up!' project, presented the winner Jakob Weber a set of professional Canon photographic equipment and opened the exhibition. Marina Rosso and Gregor Fischer were the second and third prize winners. Finaly the jury commended the work of Juliane Jaschnow.
