Global conflicts, intimate moments of life, and uncommon places of the everyday are the topics that inspire the work of Luc Delahaye (France), JH Engström (Sweden), Jörg Sasse (Germany) and Stephen Shore (USA). With each of their clear and unmistakable styles, they are representatives of different aspects of contemporary international photography.

These four photographers are the finalists of the Deutsche Börse Photography Prize 2005 that is awarded annually by The Photographers’ Gallery, London. In May 2005, Luc Delahaye was announced as the winner of the Photography Prize, worth £30,000, for his large-scale photographs depicting global conflicts, and sites of contemporary war and political power.
