Welcome to the fascinating world of self-designed moving images! The KINOMAT is a machine developed by Angela González and Matthias Luthardt that brings the young participants' drawings or photographs to life and immerses them in the magic of handmade film sequences and analog endless loops. Experience first-hand how rigid images are transformed into living film miniatures – without the need for smartphones or modern technology. With the KINOMAT, every sequence becomes your own personal masterpiece!

After creating their own KINOMAT crank cinema, participants will be inspired by the exhibition A World in Common at C/O Berlin, which explores the themes of identity, community and culture. They will then learn about the beginnings of cinema, create flipbooks to sketch stop-motion ideas for their KINOMAT and finally bring their own photo stories to life.
