In Hi Schatz! gaps and niches in the urban landscape are often squatted, redesigned, and used as canvasses for personal expression, disconnecting the places from their intended purpose. Martin Eberle explores the temporary use of these spaces in his photography book Hi Schatz!

Handmade advertisements, self-built structures, and photographs taken inside, above, and looking into the corners of these creatively appropriated spaces form a fragmentary, emotional, personal picture of contemporary experience, photographed between 1997 and 2007.

Hi Schatz! is published by Fantôme in a signed, limited edition of 100 numbered copies. Ten are available in a signed and numbered edition with an enlargement of the photograph “Ich glaub, …”. The book includes texts by Heinrich Dubel. The book launch will take place as part of the exhibition No Photos on the Dance Floor! Berlin 1989—Today at C/O Berlin. Reimo Herfort will be reading from the photography book.
