With a detective's eye on the immediate environment, the participants are invited to develop their own biotope and invent an organism, a dream world, an alternative to reality. They explore the environment and nature with the camera and create their own photographic collection in order to let something new emerge from it.The collection can consist of patterns and structures or details from technical, architectural, organic or fantastic discoveries.

In order to let their own inventions grow, the found image worlds serve as material for collages, can be overdrawn or even transformed into three-dimensional objects. The researchers are inspired by the exhibition Image Ecology at C/O Berlin in the Amerika Haus.

All inventions can be taken home after the workshop and the self-filled fund can of course be used for further research.

Katja Schütt studied experimental photography at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar and the Gesamthochschule Kassel and sculpture at the Kunsthochschule Berlin Weißensee. Since 1999 she has been living as a freelance visual artist in Berlin. She conducts various artistic workshops for children and young people.

Jutta Scheiner trained as an ivory carver and studied sculpture in Berlin Weißensee. She lives and works in Berlin. Her artistic focus is on painting and collage.
