In this dialogical format, Dr. Kathrin Schönegg and Junior Curator Veronika Epple jointly guide visitors through Documentary in Flux. The exhibition uses fourteen selected artistic positions to illuminate the transformation of documentary strategies in contemporary photographic discourse – from classic genres of documentary photography and staged documentaries to the expansion of the concept of media and possible visions of the future.
Schönegg directed the C/O Berlin Talent Award from 2019 to 2023 and conceived the exhibitions and publications by Sylvain Couzinet-Jacques, Anna Ehrenstein, Adji Dieye and Karolina Wojtas in close collaboration with the artists. Together with Veronika Epple, she looks back on the exhibitions, the respective documentary strategies and the developments of the award.
